Create SMT Server On SUSE Linux Enteprise Server (SLES)

SMT atau kepanjangan daru Subscription Management Tool adalah sebuah service yang memungkinkan kita membuat repo lokal layaknya WSUS pada sistem operasi Windows

Apa saja yang harus disiapkan?

• SLES 12 For SAP, or SLES 12 
• Maria DB Server
• Lisensi Subscription SLES
• Network 2 kaki, 1 Kaki ke Internet berfungsi untuk mendownload file repository, 1 kaki lagi untuk koneksi ke client
• Membuka Port Firewall 80, 443, & 427 (TCP / UDP)

Yang terpenting adalah ketika anda melakukan mirror repository.

Turn On & Turn Off Suse Firewall

Berbeda dengan sistem operasi Linux lainnya, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server mempunyai cara tersendiri untuk menghidupkan atau mematikan Firewallnya.

Untuk melakukan perintah dibawah ini harus menggunakan root

Disable Firewall:

/sbin/SuSEfirewall2 off

To turn it back on use:

/sbin/SuSEfirewall2 on

Sebagai catatan untuk service tertentu seperti VNC Server, walaupun anda sudah me-disable firewall, tampilan remote desktop akan blank, untuk mengatasi hal ini anda tetap harus membuka port service VNC pada yast

Complete Remove Maria DB On Linux

Complete remove ini dijalankan apabila terdapat eror pada Maria DB Server, seperti tidak dapat login dan reset root password, uninstall MariaDB akan tetapi eror sebelumnya muncul kembali.

Hal ini pernah saya alami ketika meninstall SMT Server (WSUS pada SLES 12), ketika saya login sebagai root DB , sesseion tersebut diblock. Cara Complete Remove harus diambil, karena root cause masalah ada di my,cnf dan file instalasi maria DB.

Berikut detail cara remove maria DB di Centos 7

• yum remove mariadb mariadb*
• rm -rf /var/lib/mysql If your datadir in /etc/my.cnf points to a different directory, remove that directory instead of /var/lib/mysql
• rm /etc/my.cnf
• Optional step: rm ~/.my.cnf
• yum install mariadb mariadb*

Remove Maria DB di SLES 12

• zypper -n remove mariadb*
• rm -rf /var/lib/mysql If your datadir in /etc/my.cnf points to a different directory, remove that directory instead of /var/lib/mysql
• rm /etc/my.cnf
• Optional step: rm ~/.my.cnf
• zypper -n install mariadb*

Sebagai catatan sebelum anda complete remove, janagan lupa untuk stop service mariadb
